Product Description

Bilt Oscar is an innovative descaling device for domestic and office espresso machines.  It passively removes calcium, magnesium and impurities from water through the use of ion exchange resins.  Scale buildup is the main reason for espresso machines to fail prematurely and the Bilt Oscar is the easiest way to improve the quality of your coffee while improving the longevity of your espresso machine.

Specifications:

  • Size: 150mm x 100mm
  • For 2.5-4.0 liter reservoirs.
  • Operates between 5 and 40 celcius
  • Capacity: 1800 to 5600 double shots or 8-12 months

How to Use

The optimal use of Oscar requires few and very simple steps:

  1. Remove Oscar from its transparent and protecting wrapper;
  2. Once the plastic has been removed, wet with cold water to activate the silvered granules;
  3. Lay down Oscar into the empty water tank. Fill with water up to the desired level.

As water interacts with the resin microspheres it will be subjected to the osmotic and magnetic softening process, starting to transfer calcium and magnesium ions giving back sodium ones.
